Stillwater Country Club
The SCC SWGA played for low gross this week and the nine-hole winner was Janetta Loper, “A” flight was won by Mary Selk and Ann Watkins took the 18-hole championship flight. In the weekly SWGA outing, playing for fewest putts, saw Carol Outhier win the nine-hole division and Jo Geresi won “A” flight.
Diana Murphy won the 18-hole championship flight, Sharon Westerman the President’s flight, Phyllis Sanders the “A” flight and Judy O’Neil the “B” flight. The SCCWGA-SWGA Challenge scheduled for Aug. 26-27 has been cancelled.
Lakeside Golf Course
The SWGA played “throw out two of each nine” and Carolyn Laverde won the nine-hole championship flight and Betty Edgley took second. Bonnie McCintock won the President’s flight, Anne Hacker was second while in “A” flight Ann Dugger won first and Carol Heddlesten took second. Datha Morrison won “B” flight and Anne McMurtry took second.
In the 18-hole scores, Carolyn Martin (63) won the championship flight and Marty Johnson was second while Linda Eggerman (60) won the President’s flight and Hyun Suk Oh (61) finished second.
In “A” flight, Teressa Metcalf (57) won first place and Charlotte Chatburn (64) was second, and in “B” flight, Betty Jobes (67) took first and Kay Graves (68) won second.
City Championship
Half of the field for the 10th Annual Stillwater NewsPress City Championship (Sept. 19-21) are old hands at playing for the title. Rex Hughes (Stillwater Country Club) has appeared in five previous city tournaments, having won the crown twice, while Terry Faggins (Lakeside) has reached this level four times and won the city championship once.
Josh Sanders (Cimarron Trails) is in the field for the fourth time and oddly enough he won the whole thing three consecutive times spanning 2002, ’03 and ’04. Mark Littlefield (CT) has played in two of the last three city tournaments and the only newcomer is Tyler McDonald of Lakeside
Stillwater NewsPress City Championship dates and tee-times are Sept. 19 (Cimarron Trails, 1 p.m.), Sept. 20 (Stillwater Country Club, 1 p.m.) and Sept. 21 (Lakeside, 1 p.m.).
Cimarron Trails
Thanks to Brent Westerman we managed to scramble together the results of the MGA, one-man scramble on Tuesday. Tony Sadler (32) won the championship flight followed by Mark Wilson (33), Scott House (33), Trent Lore (33), Ben Wald (33), Lloyd Moorman (34), Ron Thompson (34), Jeremy Graham (35), Lynn Gann (35) and Tim Fox (37).
Jeff Gill (30) won the President’s flight then came Brent Westerman (31), Darrell Sadler (32), Chris Boley (33), Lewis Kinzie (34), John Damicone (36), Jerry Sadler (36) and Bill McDaniel (39). In the “A” flight, the winner was Roger Passick (27) and then David Swain (29), Jared Kelso (31), Dale Logan (31), Roy Keenom (32), Rick Cramer (32), Brett Howerton (35) and Michael Short (38).
