Shrum named to Regional squad

NORMAN — Central Oklahoma sophomore Colby Shrum has been selected to the NCAA Division-II PING All-South Central Regional Team, it was announced Thursday by the the Golf Coaches Association of America.

The Perry native led the Bronchos in 2007-08, finishing with a 72.2 scoring average for 11 tournaments during the fall and spring seasons. Shrum had five rounds in the 60s and finished in the Top 20 in 10 tournaments, including six top-five showings.

He won two titles, taking the St. Mary’s Invitational last fall and the UCO/KickingBird Classic this spring. Named the Lone Star Conference Player of the Year, Shrum was one of 11 players on the All-South Central Regional Team and is now eligible for PING All-America honors.
