Three Amigos United Way Golf Tournament
The dates for this annual affair are Friday-Sunday. Friday at the Payne County Expo Center, starting at 5:30 p.m., activities will include dinner, compliments of Mexico Joe’s. Saturday golf will be played at Lakeside Memorial and the Stillwater Country Club, and participants will switch, playing Lakeside one day and the Country Club the other.
The entry fee is $100 per player and based on 12 teams per flight. First place will be awarded a $400 gift certificate, to a four-man team, $275 for second place, third place $175 and fourth place $110 per team. You can pick up entry blanks at Lakeside and the Country Club today.

Stillwater Country Club
They have started the club match-play tournament and there are five flights of competition. The Championship flight winner earns a spot in the 10th Annual Stillwater NewsPress City Championship, September 19-21.
In the upper half of the Championship flight, Scott Schuessler defeated Ray Hammergren, 2&1. Other matches to be played in the upper part of the bracket include Rex Hughes vs. Alan Campbell, Don Stafford vs. Barry Patton and Tim Crockett vs. Gary Schnacke. In the lower half of the bracket, Jim Davis defeated Jeff Scott, 6&5, while other matches to be played include Bobby Moore vs. Steve Flaming, Dave Reynolds vs. Kevin Collin and Kent Taylor vs. Mike Johnson.
Pairings in the second flight include Steve Carpenter bye, Jon Vaught vs. Joe Starks, Rick Ladd vs. Steve Leim and Randy Blake vs. Bruce Webber.
Third flight pairings are Chris Wells vs. Derek Sosbee, Rathin Sarathy vs. Terry Deer, Jerry Hughes vs. Jim Walsh plus John Murphy vs. Steve Kistler.
In the fourth flight, Jarrel Maxwell bye, Jim Thomas vs. Jerry Burson, Tom Stewart bye and Ken Alexander vs. Chris Szlichta.
The fifth and final flight includes Steve O’Neil bye, Martin Bullock vs. John Killam, Bill Annis bye and Pete Muriana vs. Dick Overholt.
• The Couples Scramble tournament last Thursday saw Steve and Annette Flaming (31) win the first flight, followed by a three-way tie for second at 34, Eddie and Ann Watkins, Jim and Irma Walsh and David and Amanda Dietz.
In the second flight, there was a three-way tie for honors at 39 with the teams of Jim and Mary Morwood, Keith and Mary Hufnagle, and Jared and Shannon Wooten.

Lakeside Memorial
The SWGA played for Low Gross On Even Holes last Tuesday and next they will hold the Glenna Banks Spring Handicap Tournament Tuesday through Thursday for 18-hole players and Tuesday and Thursday for 9-hole competitors. Last week in the 9-hole division, the Championship flight winner was LaDonna Rice and Mary Thomas was runner-up while in the President’s flight Anne Hacker and Bonnie McClintock tied for first and Arlene Duff was third. In “A” flight Ann Dugger was the winner and Hazel Griffin finished second and in “B” flight Datha Morrison won and Anne McMurtry placed second. In the 18-hole group, Marty Johnson (33) won the championship flight and Linda Eggerman (37) was second. Linda Phillips (40) won the President’s flight while Robbie Holder (47) was second and Charlotte Chatburn (40) won “A” flight and Shirley Chesbro (41) finished second. Betty Jobes (45) and Sandra Marksberry (45) shared first place in “B” flight.
• There was no competition in the MGA last week and there won’t be any play this Thursday.
• Monday will be the annual West of Heaven Golf Tournament and the course will be closed from noon until 5 p.m.
• Next Saturday and Sunday is the Annual United Way tournament and the course will be closed until noon each day.
• May is the PGA “Free Lesson Month” and Lakeside will offer free 10-minute lessons on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Warning, you need to book your free lesson period ahead of time at the Lakeside pro shop.

Cimarron Trails
Last week the MGA held a two-man best ball tournament on their usual Tuesday-evening outing. Mark Wilson and Roy Keenom (71) won the championship flight and were followed by Jeff Gill-David McPhail (72), Roscoe Wisler-Jeremy Graham (73), Scott House-Tyson Story (73), Mark Littlefield-Jared Kelso (74), Jared Kelso-Tony Sadler (76), Mike Short-Lynn Gann (80), Scott Markham-Lloyd Moorman (81), Chris Boley-Jerry Sadler (82), Stan Dunbar-Ben Wald (84) and Tauren O’Daniel-Rick Coen (92). First place in “B” flight was the team of Bill McDaniel and Darrell Sadler (68) followed by Dale Logan-Brent Westerman (73), Phillip Seeley-Jim Perry (86), David Swain-Bob Gee (87), Kip Miner-Craig Bradley (90), Roger Passick-Rick Martinez (90), Eric Smith-Shawn Hancock (91), Justin Reedy-Malcolm Cunningham (92), Lewis Kinzie-Ronnie Crawford (93), Tom Bridenstine-Lloyd Moorman (94) and Eric Butler-Phillip Cameron (95).
