Travis Ford Basketball School
Three mini-camps, an individual camp and team camp will all be included in the Travis Ford Basketball School set for this June.
A pair of mini-camps will take place June 2-5. Mini-camp I, for kids from first to eighth grade, is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. until noon, while mini-camp II is scheduled from 2 - 5:30 p.m. A Specialty Mini-Camp, for students from third grade to seniors in high school, is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 6-7. Lunch is included in the specialty mini-camp. All mini-camps take place inside historic Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Individual camp will take place June 8-12. There are different rates for overnight campers and commuters. The individual camp is also for students between third and 12th grade. Transportation can be provided from the Tulsa or Oklahoma City airports for a fee. Team camp, scheduled for June 20-22, is a three-day event that provides coaches an opportunity to work with their teams, and highly competitive play for their players. Space is limited to the first 72 teams that sign up.

Langston to host football camps
The Langston football coaches will host six summer camp dates in 2008. The day only camp is open to students ages 7-18 and will take place in five cities over a six-day period. For young athletes interested in playing football, the camps are a way to meet college coaches and showcase their talents.
The camp is set to kick off June 23 in Tulsa at East Central High. On June 24 the camp will move to Watonga and move to Oklahoma City at the Northside YMCA on June 25. Langston will host the camp on June 26 before moving to Cameron University in Lawton on June 27 and June 28.
Early registration for camp is $20 and due by May 30. Late registration for camp is $25 and due by June 14. Campers will receive a t-shirt and lunch with paid registration. Participants are welcome to attend the day of camp. The cost for walk-up participants will be $25 (cash only), but t-shirts are not guaranteed. Stars trio earns All-State
The Stillwater Stars Level 6 gymnastics team finished the season in style at the Oklahoma State Compulsory Championships last week in Bartlesville. Destiny Fulsom, Lexie Crockett and Mary Crone all brought home silver medals to become All-State in the 13-and-up age group. Fulsom took the silver for her nearly perfect beam routine. Crockett and Crone tied for silver on floor and Crockett took the bronze on vault, was sixth on bars, seventh on beam, and fourth all-around. Crone placed 10th on bars and eighth all-around.
Kayla Dodd placed eighth on floor and just missed the top 10 with a 9.05 on floor. Allison Key rounded out the 13-and-up group with a ninth-place finish on floor. Kristella Dodd represented the 8-9 year old group and took the silver on beam and placed fourth on floor.

The Stillwater Thunder 11U baseball team went (5-0) in the Enid USSSA baseball tournament May 3-4. In Sunday’s elimination bracket, the Thunder run-ruled teams from Putnam City, Enid and Edmond, including a 10-2 win in the championship game. The Thunder has played into the championship game in all three tournaments they have entered this season. The team’s record is 16-3-1.
