Children’s Museum will be topic of forum

A breakfast forum Tuesday morning is set in the Stillwater Parks, Events and Recreation Activities Center with Ruth Cavins. Come hear the latest on the Children’s Museum. The monthly potluck birthday lunch happens Friday at Noon. Bring a covered dish or pay $3.

The Tuesday movie at 5:30 p.m. is “Scoop.” Signup sheets will go out midweek for mystery lunch, pool tourney and fall foliage trip. October calendars are available. For more information, call 747-8080 or stop by 1015 E. 12th.

Wednesday morning, senior ladies were geared up for exciting rounds of pool. Exercise participants focused on breathing techniques while they rejuvenated their bodies with intense exercises. Ceramics class decorated sheep, ducks, little girl statues and cleaned festive pumpkins. Computer students attended another informative session to become computer savvy. Afternoon hours found folks entertaining each other with stories while playing games of canasta, wahoo and dominoes. Social bridge winners were Mallory Owen, first and Jean Herndon, second. Yoga practice was a quiet mix of asanas to open and clear the body, calm and strengthen the mind. Practice concluded with sitting meditation.

The exercise room was crowded Thursday morning as Sit n’Fit participants gently rotated their arms and legs to increase flexibility and balance. Line dancers sashayed around the room as to a fit and healthy lifestyle. The center was buzzing in the afternoon as games of bingo, pool, dominoes, canasta and bridge were being played. In the evening, sounds of familiar tunes could be heard at the center as folks enjoyed listening to musicians play their instruments and sing.

Friday morning, the pool area was full as ladies engaged in recreational games of pool. Computer students participated in another enlightening session. Crafters finished ongoing projects and shared ideas with others. In the afternoon, sounds of laughter could be heard as folks played light-hearted games of dominoes, pitch, canasta and puzzles.

Weekend fun included rounds of pool, canasta, rummikube, dominoes and a Texas hold’em tournament. The winner of the tournament was Mert Wyatt.

Monday morning, the ladies eagerly competed in billiards. Exercise classes could be found by participants looking for energizing exercises. Computer classes learned file copying in this session. Afternoon games were popular from dominoes and rummikube to phase 10 and puzzles. Social bridge winners were reported as Jean Culton, first and Orlean Hunter, second. Sign language participants continue to learn how to use their hands as a form of communication. Yoga practice was a deeply invigorating session of asanas for opening and restoring energy flow in the body and mind.

Sit’n fit participants worked to restore energy and strength. Line dancers two-stepped from one side of the room to the other to keep in shape and stay healthy. In the afternoon, folks gathered for games of pool, dominoes and canasta. Duplicate Bridge winners were reported as Betsy Baldwin/ Donna Beason, first; Charles Foreman/ Teresa Tanner, second and Patsy Wilson/ Jerry Koelsch, third. During the evening hours, moviegoers enjoyed “Evening.”
