Grace Living Center Resident Cathy Dodson (seated) enjoyed a visit from ladies with the Hartford Avenue Church of Christ in Ponca City. The ladies are members of the Red Hat Society and came to have lunch with Dodson. The women have been friends for 15 years and made Dodson an honorary member of their Society. Ladies in the Life Adult Day Center made burritos and homemade salsa for the annual Cinco de Mayo fiesta. The foods were served along with “virgin” margaritas after a presentation on the history of the Mexican holiday by Nutrition Coordinator Melissa Kennedy. Then participants and staff had a lesson in various Latin American dances from Program Assistant Rae Alandzes. Earlier in the day, participants also attended a continuing education class to learn more about the Mexican culture and language. Left to right are Cathy Miller, Julia Knight and Fran Tunnell.
