Cushing ed board meets

Personnel issues will highlight the Cushing Board of Education meeting Monday.

Discussion and a vote will be held on the resignations of Troy Golemon, middle school social studies teacher; Ann Golemon, Harmony Title VII teacher assistant, Denise Sturgeon, bus driver, and Carolyn Smith, Title I reading teacher.

A vote will be taken on the employment of Buddy Moore, middle school social studies; Terrie Williams, Harmony teacher assistant; Cindy McCullough, Harmony teacher assistant; Carol Aldridge, Title I reading teacher; John Hampton, maintenance; Steve Slepka, custodian; Marvin Purvis, custodian; Kevin Hiltzman, custodian (probationary employee); Charles Crowe, custodian (probationary employee); Shane Chestnut, custodian (probationary employee) and Mark Scalley, custodian (probationary employee).

The following encumbrances will be up for discussion and vote: General fund, $8,302,077; co-op fund, $8,963; building fund, $54,756 and child nutrition fund, $329,638 for a total of $8,697,435.

Possible topics of discussion include acceptance of CBEW audit, estimation of the needs for the current school year, gifted/talented committee, the open transfer policy transfer and salary schedule and adjustments for 2008-9.

Executive session will be held to discuss employment of the individuals named above, negotiations and lawsuits.

Monday’s meeting will be held in the administrative offices, 1401 N. Little St., at 7 p.m.
