Stillwater schools get athletic director

Assistant superintendent resigning

During a special session scheduled to begin at 4 p.m., the school board is slated to approve a contract with Butch Lingenfelter as the athletic director. Lingenfelter would replace Mike Simpson, who has accepted a job with Ponca City schools.

According to the agenda posted Monday afternoon, Lingenfelter has a master’s degree from Oklahoma State University and 31 years of experience. According to the agenda, he started Monday.

The board also is set to approve the hiring of Jessica Hentges as the assistant principal at Stillwater Junior High School. The agenda states Hentges has a master’s from Texas Women’s University and five years of experience.

Also listed among personnel actions for the special session is the resignation of Diana Leggett, assistant superintendent for learning. Leggett was hired in Stillwater on Jan. 6, 1997.

The special session will be followed by the board’s regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Both meetings will be in the Board of Education Building, 314 S. Lewis.
