Glencoe BOE meets Monday

Glencoe Board of Education members are expected to accept $135,210.74 in supplemental funding for the just-completed school year when they meet Monday.

The funding was approved in the final days of the Oklahoma Legislature’s session to cover shortfalls created by lower-than-expected tax receipts. In February, school districts were told to expect a 2 percent reduction in state appropriations for the current school year. Late appropriations covered those shortfalls.

Also Monday, the board could approve bonding services for district employees through Old Republic Insurance for the 2008-9 school year.

In other business, the board could approve contracts for next school year with:

• OSAG, for worker’s compensation insurance;

• OROS, for district membership;

• OASBO, district membership.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Board Room, 201 E. Lone Chimney Road.
