Ripley-Hite
The Smith-Garringer family will host the Ripley-Hite family reunion May 26 in the Glencoe High School cafeteria.
Included are the families of George Washington Ripley and Martha Jane Downing, Lewis Scott Ripley and Cordelia Jane Carinder, Granville Sesil Carinder and Sarah Simpson Barber, Thomas Young Barber and Rebecca Moody, James Downing II and Ruth Morrow, Christopher Hite and his wife Margaret, Daniel Hite Sr. and Catherine Ickes, Daniel Hite Jr. and Catherine Ann Thrawl, John Samuel Hite and Sarah Catherine Skidgel, James Fletcher Skidgel and Harrietta Rice and Otis Adren Hite and Ida Indiana Ripley, along with any other family and friends.
Those attending should bring pictures and family stories. Reservations should be made with Ruby Mae (Smith) Kelley, 174 Ruth, Farmington, Ark., 72730, (479) 267-1679.
Ida Indiana Ripley was born outside Glencoe in 1890, and Otis Adren Hite moved there with his parents in 1889 when he was 1 year old.
The two grew up there and were married in Stillwater on Christmas Eve 1908.
