Encore!, an arts-based ministry team from Crown College, will present their 2008 production Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Starlight Ministries at 2123 W. 12th Avenue in Stillwater. This musical theatre is hosted by New Beginnings Alliance, a member church of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Admission is free for this event.
The seven-member, high-energy cast of Crown students ministers in churches and schools throughout the school year and into the summer months. This year’s show is based on Proverbs 17:22 where we are told that a “Merry heart doeth good like medicine.”
Dr. David Donelson, professor of music, directs the production. Each show aims to challenge Christians to examine their faith, beliefs and commitments in creative ways, as they honor their Creator.
The production weaves together compelling acting with talented voices in order to bring Biblical truths to life.
The cast of Encore! is made up of Erin Brandt, Plymouth, Minn.; Ian Lahum, Moorhead, Minn.; Tom Marchant, Hanover, Minn.; Nikki Rollins, New Prague, Minn.; Jesse Wagner, Isle, Minn.; Jake Wattenphul, Murrysville, Pa.; and Joy Rachelle, Paxton, Mass. Crown College is located in St. Bonifacius, Minn., and is the Midwest regional college of The Christian and Missionary Alliance. Founded in 1916, the college exists to provide a Christ-centered education, offering 33 undergraduate majors and four graduate level programs.
