• Lindsay Helton, Stillwater, joins the incoming class of 2012 at the Oklahoma State University Center for Veterinary Health Sciences.

She is the daughter of Chris and Debbie Wells, Stillwater.

She graduated from Stillwater High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in animal science with an animal biotechnology option from OSU.

During her studies, Helton was on the President’s Honor Roll and Dean’s Honor Roll and received an OSU Continuing Education Scholarship, a Payne County HCE Scholarship and a Choctaw Nation Higher Education Grant/Scholarship.



• Clarence V. “Tino” Shinault III, formerly of Stillwater, will preach his first trial sermon at 11 a.m. Sept. 14 in Mount Zion Baptist Church, 1117 N. Merriweather, Okmulgee.

Shinault, a native of Stillwater, is the son of the late Clarence and Fredia Shinault. He graduated in May 1975 from Stillwater High School, where he played football.

He left Stillwater in 1988 and lived in Tulsa 15 years before moving to Okmulgee five years ago.

He has worked for 28 years in the custodial field. His employers included the City of Stillwater, Tulsa Job Corps and OSU-Okmulgee.

He is retired now.

He was active at Mount Zion Baptist in Stillwater and was a member of Higher Dimensions Church in Tulsa for seven years.
