OSU soccer defeats Rice, improves to 3-0

Kasey Langdon recorded a pair of goals to lead Oklahoma State to a 4-0 win against Rice in front of 1,388 fans in OSU’s home opener Friday night at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex.

With the win, the 17th-ranked Cowgirls improved to 3-0-0 on the season as they racked up 28 shots and recorded their second shutout of the year.

OSU netted its first goal in the 18th minute. Following a scramble for a loose ball in the box, Langdon gained control and sent a shot past Rice goalkeeper Meghan Erkel for a 1-0 lead.

Langdon wasn’t done as she recorded her second goal of the night and third of the season at the 35:22 mark, receiving an assist from Katie Richardson to give the Cowgirls a 2-0 lead going into intermission.

Krista Lopez and Yolanda Odenyo each recorded a goal for the Cowgirls in the second half. Erin Stigler and Kaitlyn Gustaves combined for the shutout in goal for the Cowgirls.

OSU returns to action Sunday when it hosts Northwestern State at 1 p.m.
