O-State football player arrested

An Oklahoma State University football player was arrested early Saturday on charges of being younger than 21 in a bar and having a false ID.

Stillwater Police arrested Damian Doin Troy Davis, 18, a sophomore who plays wide receiver, at Dirty’s Tavern, 421 S. Washington. He was charged with being under 21 in a liquor bar, possessing a false ID, presenting a false ID to a police officer with intent of deceiving that officer and obstructing a police officer during an investigation.

According to the police report, Sgt. Paul Bostick of the Stillwater Police Department’s Special Projects Unit saw Davis enter Dirty’s, a bar posted as open to people 21 years old and older.

Davis presented a Georgia driver’s license, found to belong to OSU football player Maurice Raequell Gray, showing he was 21, according to police.

The door staff didn’t think the driver’s license was real and asked Bostick to verify it, the report said.

Davis told Bostick he was Maurice Gray and that he was 21, but when asked for his middle name and birth place said he was too drunk to remember, according to the report.

Kevin Klintworth, OSU’s associate athletic director for media relations, said the athletic department would have no official statement until football coach Mike Gundy returns to the office, which should be around the middle of the month.

Davis played in nine games in the 2007 season, catching two passes for a total of 47 yards.
