Robert (Bob) Sanders

Robert (Bob) Sanders, 85, of Stillwater died Sept. 29, 2008. Memorial services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Stan Warfield officiating. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Bob was born to Henry V. and Zelima (Phillip) Sanders in Breckenridge, Minn., Nov. 2,1922. He joined the Army prior to the war starting in 1941 and served as a medic in the Pacific theater from New Guinea to Manila. He was discharged on Dec. 26, 1945. In 1958 Bob joined the Navy Reserve where he served for four years.
Bob is survived by his wife Deloris of the home, and six children; Dolly Beaudoin (Scott) of Vancouver, Wash.; Mike and Dianne Sanders of Scappoose, Ore.; Nancy Jones (Jess) of Albany, Ga.; Cherie Carter (Brian) of Perkins; Robert and Kristen Sanders of Grangeville, Idaho; and Karen Sevores (Dan) of Des Moines, Wash. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.
Bob, the youngest of three, is survived by his sister Dorothy Berg (Don) of Hendersonville, N.C., and brother Vernon Sanders of Santa Rosa, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the First United Methodist Church Youth Camp Fund, 400 W. 7th Stillwater, OK 74074.
