Margaret W. Suggs

Margaret W. Suggs, 85, of Oklahoma City passed away Thursday, September 4, 2008, in Oklahoma City after a brief illness. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Perkins First United Methodist Church. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born August 22, 1923, in Coyle. Margaret, the youngest daughter of Clarence A. and Ellen Marie Moser, grew up in Perkins. After graduating from Perkins High School, Margaret married L.D. Suggs and they moved to Chicago where he attended college. They returned to Oklahoma City in 1951 to raise their family. Margaret lived and worked in Oklahoma City for over 40 years and then retired in 1991 and moved back home to Perkins.

Margaret’s sense of humor and her ability to make friends was unsurpassed throughout her life. Margaret was very active in her church, First United Methodist Church of Perkins, and served as the unofficial Social Director of the Perkins Chapter of Senior Citizens. In addition to her many social activities, Margaret adored children and entertained the children of her neighborhood often with dress up and tea parties.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers Sol, Charlie, Jack and Emmit; two sisters Nadine and Delia; and one niece, Roberta.

She will be loved and missed always by her daughter, Sharon Suggs Wood and her husband Greg Wood of Plano, Texas, and her son, Steve Suggs of Oklahoma City. She is survived by her brothers, Bill and Art, her sister, June and sister-in-law, Sylvia. Other family members close to her heart include her nieces, Debby Light, Lynda Diamond, Vicki Rylant and her nephews, Dwayne Moser, Jim Moser and Joe Rylant. A special thank you to Kelly, Katie and Julia Hines; Penni, Austin and Reagan Deaver; Marty and Kaleb Rylant; Shane, Mike, Jonathan, Luke and Michael Light; and Jensen, Tanner, McKinley, Reagan and Brady Argyle for the love and joy they brought to her life.

Condolences may be e-mailed to the family and an online obituary may be viewed by visiting www.strodefh.com.
