Pamela Janice Carleton, 53, of Stillwater died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 in Stillwater. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Strode Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Eslinger officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was born July 9, 1954 in Pampa, Texas to Kenneth Wayne Shelley and Lahonda Jane (Hunter) Shelley. She married Howard Carleton, III on Sept. 4, 1981 in Stillwater.
She attended East Central University in Ada for two years. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles where she spent many hours working for charity. She also served as trustee and vice president of the club and was serving as a trustee at the time of her death.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Carleton of Stillwater; her father, Kenneth Wayne Shelley of Lindsay; two sons, Howard Carleton, IV of Stillwater and Matthew T. Carleton of Stillwater; one brother, Kenneth Wayne Shelley, Jr. of Lindsay; one sister, Kim Geffre of Lindsay; and one stepsister, Mary Finkledei and her husband Mark of Wichita, Kan.
Active pallbearers will be Brett Noga, Cliff Blackstock, Bruce Magee, Terry Miner, Eldon Ropers and John Brunnemer.
