Charlene Marie (Fielding) Zumwalt, 70, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at her home in Mannford.
Services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing and will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in First Christian Church, Cushing, with Dr. Larry Haney officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Mannford.
Charlene was born Oct. 14, 1937, in Quay to William L. Fielding Sr. and Ethel (Pollock) Fielding.
She was united in marriage to Bobby Zumwalt on July 19, 1958, in the First Christian Church in Cushing. The couple had two children, Karin and Randall. Charlene and Bob eventually made their home in Mannford where she loved to play the piano and spend time with family and friends. Charlene loved traveling with her husband and loved reading.
Charlene is survived by her husband Bobby of nearly 50 years; one daughter, Karin D. Zumwalt of Mannford; one son, Randall Zumwalt of Oklahoma City; two grandchildren, Evan Joel Zumwalt and Alexander Jay Zumwalt, both of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Walter LeRoy Fielding and his wife Gwen of Tulsa and Finis “Buck” Fielding and his wife Martha of Cleveland; four sisters, Evelyn Weldon and her husband Leon of Cushing, Beatrice Stromme of Sulphur, Berniece Walling and her husband Ralph of Yale and Beverly Strader and her husband Bob of Cushing; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Charlene was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Marion Sue Burt; and four brothers, James “Sam” Fielding, Tom Fielding, Lesley Allen Fielding and Dr. William L. Fielding Jr.
Three of Charlene’s favorite charities are Jews for Jesus (www.Jews-For-Jesus.org), John 3:16 and Joni and Friends (www.Joniandfriends.org). Memorials may be made to any of these.
