Richard Deen Robbins

Funeral services for Richard Deen Robbins, longtime resident of Stillwater, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Strode Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Norman Richmond officiating. Internment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Richard was born July 27, 1923 to Margaret Lowe and John W. Robbins in Hugo and departed this world on Saturday, April 19, 2008. He was 84 years young.

He married Eula Jean Hill on April 4, 1942 in Haworth.

He was a painting contractor for many years and later employed by Oklahoma State University Physical Plant. He retired from OSU in 1988. He was a member of the Perkins First United Methodist Church.

He will be greeted by his parents; three brothers, Claude Edward “Jiggs” Robbins, J.J. “Buddy” Robbins, and Marvin Robbins; three sisters, Juanita “Sister” Bissell, Mary Katheryn Lakey, and Hattie Belle Hovis.

He will be remembered and greatly missed by his wife, Eula Jean Robbins of Stillwater; two daughters, Billie Loyce Baker and her husband Ronnie of Broken Bow, and Jean Delane Hastings and her husband Larry of Perkins; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Billy Jack Robbins of Stillwater, Thomas D. “Tinker” Robbins and his wife Auddie of Mannford, and K. Don Robbins of San Augustine, Texas; two sisters, Eunice “Penny” Floyd of Stillwater and Margaret “Johnnie” Trekell and her husband Larry of San Augustine; numerous nieces and nephews and a great number of friends.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Neal Moore, Kevin Zetterberg, Clint Warden, Doug Roberts, Troy Frieling and Roger Moore.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Alzheimer’s Association, Central OK Chapter, 3555 NW 58th No. 220, Oklahoma City, 73112.
