Richard Lytle “Dick” Passarelli, 83, of Ardmore, died Saturday, April 12, 2008, in Ardmore. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Fairlawn Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He was born May 24, 1924, in Apollo, Pa., to Pierino Passarelli and Lena Maria (Lytle) Passarelli. He married Maxine Ryan June 9, 1946, in Denver, Colo. She preceded him in death Dec. 24, 1995.
After graduating from high school, he was inducted in the US Army Air Corps March 20, 1943. He served in the Pacific Theatre at Luzon during WWII. While stationed at Lowry Air Force Base, he met the love of his life, Maxine. He was honorably discharged March 9, 1946.
He attended the University of Colorado in Denver and received his bachelor’s degree in business. He worked as a clothing salesman in Joslin’s Department Store before relocating to Stillwater in 1964. He became the regional salesman for Hanson Gloves and Kaiser Ladies Clothing and Apparel Company before retiring in 1984. He enjoyed music and sports and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Stillwater.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son, Richard Lytle Passarelli II, five brothers and one sister.
He is survived by one son, Mark Ryan Passarelli and his wife, Betsy, of Garland, Texas; six grandchildren, Mark Robert Passarelli of Edmond, Dana Ballas of Oklahoma City, Ryan Passarelli of College Station, Texas, Kyle Passarelli of McKinney, Texas, Joseph Passarelli of Plano, Texas and Sara Passarelli of Garland, Texas; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret “Peg” Bagotat of Vandergrift, Pa. and Lena Pauline “Patty” Miller of Apollo, Pa.
