Richard Van Golden passed from this life Sunday, April 13, 2008. He was born July 27, 1949, in El Reno, to Clarence Sumner and Margaret Mary (Van Gundy) Golden.

He graduated from El Reno High School and Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He was a commercial artist, gifted in graphic design, both traditional and digital imaging. He was employed by the Journal Record, NorTex Press, was an adjunct professor at Eastfield College in Mesquite, Texas, and was currently employed at Stillwater NewsPress.
