Gloria Vinita Lawson, 75, of Stillwater, died Sunday, March 23, 2008, in Stillwater. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Strode Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Brandt Gardner officiating. Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Aug. 31, 1932, in Perkins, to Edmond E. Rutter and Berthamae (Martz) Rutter. She married Richard Lee Lawson July 3, 1954, in Stillwater.
She graduated from Stillwater High School in 1950 and worked as a telephone operator from 1950 to 1963. She served for 10 years as a director of the Family History Center. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She lived in Payne County her entire life.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Lee Lawson, of Stillwater; two sons, Michael Lawson and his wife, Kristin, of Kearney, Neb. and Monty Lawson and his wife, Valerie, of Tulsa; two grandsons, Christopher Lawson of Kearney and Colin Lawson of Tulsa; one brother, Edmond J. Rutter and his wife, Martha, of Stillwater; one sister, Clarece (Rutter) Nance of Little Rock, Ark.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
