Two charged in string of burglaries
Darla Slipke
Two Stillwater residents accused of stealing jewelry, electronics, and other items from six houses are scheduled to appear at a preliminary hearing on Nov. 3.
Amanda Horner, 20, and Alonzo Rupp, 28, were arrested Oct. 16 and accused of breaking into several houses Oct. 7 and Oct. 8 along a 13-mile stretch at the north end of Payne County. Sheriff Noel Bagwell said 10 houses were burglarized between the Noble-Payne county line and Rose Road. Law enforcement agents also arrested a 16-year-old, Bagwell said, but the individual was later released.
Bagwell said law enforcement agents have recovered most of the $10,000 worth of stolen property including jewelry, a 60-inch plasma television and a Blackberry phone. He said they had not found guns that were reported stolen.
Horner was charged with knowingly concealing stolen property, possession of marijuana and false pawn declaration. Rupp was charged with second-degree burglary.
Investigators contend a print on a magazine inside one of the burglarized houses matched Rupp’s thumb print.
Investigators say a woman pawned a stolen diamond pendant on Oct. 13, and they contend that woman was Horner.
Rupp also faces burglary charges in Oklahoma County in an unrelated case.
The burglary investigation is ongoing, Bagwell said, and more charges could be filed.
“We’re not done yet,” he said.
