School board has special, regular meetings Tuesday

The Board of Education will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday for a special meeting before attending to business at its regularly-scheduled 6:30 p.m. meeting.

During the special meeting, the Board will vote to approve more than 50 appointments, resignations and employment recommendations. It will also review and discuss the proposed operational budget for the school district for 2008-2009.

At the regular business meeting, the Board will vote whether to approve next year’s operational budget.

It will also recieve a staffing report and information about a possible revision to the comprehensive school health guide policy.

Other items of business include voting on a FEMA-approved multi-hazard and multi-jurisdictional mitigation plan, meteorology and geology coursework and the treasurer’s report.

The Board meets once a month at the Board of Education, 314 S. Lewis St. The next scheduled meeting is Nov. 11.
