County tabs contractor for projects

The Payne County Commission selected a construction company for road improvements at Tuesday’s meeting in the Payne County Administration Building.

The meeting was held Tuesday, rather than the regular Monday, due to the Labor Day holiday.

Three roads around Stillwater are scheduled for improvements: 80th between Country Club and Range roads; Lakeview between Cottonwood and Range roads; and Jardot between Airport and Richmond roads.

Four construction companies submitted buds for the projects: Quapaw Co., of Stillwater; Bailey’s Paving Co., Inc. of Carney; Dobson Brothers Construction of Lincoln, Neb.; and Kerns Cos., of Stillwater.

The commissioners selected Bailey’s Paving Co., for all three projects.
