The transition from married to divorced

Stillwater church offers series of seminars

Commonly associated with divorce is the loss of friends and extended family. The transition between living with a spouse and living without one can be lonely and isolating.

To help, Sunnybrook Christian Church, 421 E. Richmond Road, is starting a support group which will hold weekly seminars for those who are either divorced or going through the process.

The group will meet every Wednesday from 6:30 until 8 p.m. beginning this week and lasting until Nov. 19.

Topics to be discussed include Aug. 27, Rebuilding Blocks; Sept. 3, Adaptation; Sept. 10, Grief; Sept. 17, Anger; Sept. 24, Self-Worth; Oct. 1, Transition; Oct. 8, Openness; Oct. 15, Love; Oct. 22, Relatedness; Oct. 29, Sexuality; Nov. 5, Singleness/Purpose/ Freedom; Nov. 12, Surviving the holidays and Nov. 19, Where to go from here.

People are welcome to join every week or pick topics that are a concern.

The group is open to all people in the community and surrounding area. It will be held in room seven, which can be found by entering the west door found just north of the main entrance on the west side of the building.
