Man charged with taking gun into bar

A man was charged Wednesday with carrying a firearm into a liquor establishment.

Lewis Lee Conway III, 23, is accused of taking a loaded .357 Magnum into Dirty’s Tavern, 421 S. Washington, on Saturday.

The felony charge is punishable by a fine of up to $1,000, imprisonment in the state penitentiary for up to two years or a fine and imprisonment.

Conway was also charged with carrying a firearm while intoxicated, a misdemeanor that is punishable by a fine of $50 to $500, imprisonment for 10 days to six months or a combination of the two.
