County may take more credit cards for tax payments

The Payne County commissioners approved a utility permit for May Petroleum during Monday’s meeting.

The Payne County Treasurer's Office bought forth an item concerning electronic transaction processing with the office in relation to paying taxes online. Currently only Discover credit cards may be used on the Web site.

The proposal sought to add more credit cards, as well as bank debit cards. Commissioners agreed to table the proposal until Friday at 8:30 a.m.

The treasurer's office also brought forth a bid to renew a contract with Falco Alarm Co., through July. Commissioners unanimously passed the contract extension.

The final plat for Esther Park at Bradley Farms, near 32nd and South Country Club Road, was approved.

A letter to the commissioners was brought forth concerning road crossing permits.

Along paved roads, utilities may not be trenched; they must be bored underneath the road. Only along gravel roads may they be trenched, unless permission is sought from the county, according to Commissioner Gloria Hesser.

The permits allow Rural Water Corp. 3 to, in addition to boring, trench utilities along paved roads, if needed.

The roads affected are McElroy, Fairgrounds, Union and Brush Creek.

The commissioners unanimously approved the permits.ꆱ
