The Stillwater City Council is scheduled to hold three public hearings when it meets Monday.

The public hearings involve:

• A request for closure of a street easement and right-of-way at 3500-3512 N. Washington;

• A request from KLC Development to close a waterline easement at 2408 S. Range Road;

• A request for a specific use permit to replace the marquee sign with an electronic sign at 724 N. Perkins Road.

A proclamation will be presented declaring Aug. 29, 2008 College Colors Day, as declared by Mayor Roger L. McMillian.

Council members will vote whether to continue funding through August 2009 to conduct a study for water and wastewater cost of service and rate design.

The council will acknowledge receipts of nine permits regarding sewer and waterlines from the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality and accept utility easements for the waterlines to serve the Red Rose Valley subdivision in the Rural Water Corporation service area.

The council will accept improvements for the Copper Creek addition, project easements for 12th Avenue, including three temporary driveway easements, a temporary drainage easement, and a right-of-way.

The council also will discuss and vote on: an ordinance closing a general utility easement on South Shumard Court; and an ordinance closing a general utility easement on North Washington.

The Council will give a second reading to an ordinance amending the Code of Ordinances of the City of Stillwater by amending Chapter 23, Land Development Code, by amending article 7, Land use Classifications, Division 8, Section23.187, Exemptions; and declaring an Emergency.

An executive session is scheduled to discuss City Manager Dan Galloway.

The council will meet at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Hearing Room at the Municipal Building, 723 S. Lewis. The meeting will be televised on cable channel 23.

Agendas can be found at the Stillwater Public Library, 1107 S. Duck, or the city’s Web page, www.stillwater.org.
