Fraternal Order of Eagles holding luau on Saturday

If a vacation in Hawaii is not in your immediate future, make plans to attend a luau being held by the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

The Eagle members are serving up a roast pig (what else at a luau?), Hawaiian chicken and other Polynesian dishes. Lola Fleming, a Samoan native, has been working with several members of the aerie teaching them authentic Polynesian dances. There will be dances for women and men and a special wedding dance will be performed by Otis and Barbara Davenport from El Reno.

There will also be games by Frank Jones and live music performed by The Holt Brothers Band.

The festivities will be held Saturday at Eagle Aerie 4277, one-half mile east of Fairgrounds Road at 409 Eagles Lane (behind Stillwater Steel and Welding Supply).

Dinner will be served from 6 until 7:30 p.m. and hula dances and games from 7:30 until 9. The Holt Brothers will perform from 9 until 1 a.m.

Tickets at the door are $15 and children younger than 8 are $5. To attend the dance only is $5.
