Vote early

The Payne County Election Board advises voters to go to the polls as early as possible Tuesday. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the primary election. Any registered voter who is in line at 7 p.m. will be able to vote.

Voters are encouraged to take their Voter Identification cards to the polls. Chances are they won’t need their cards, but if there is a problem, having the card may help election officials to resolve it.

Voters may call the Payne County Election Board office, (405) 747-8350, before election day if they have any questions about their eligibility or the location of polling place.

Also, the State Election has a polling place locator at www.elections.state.ok.us in the “Frequently Asked Questions” section and also in the “Voter Registration” section. Registered voters enter their last name, date of birth, and zip code and the locator produces a list of possible matches. The voter selects his or her name from the list and receives the name and address of the assigned polling place as well as a list of his or her congressional, state senate, state house, and county commissioner districts.
