Preliminary docket date set in rape

A Stillwater man charged with rape will appear on the preliminary hearing docket in Payne County District Court on Aug. 4.

Ugochukwu Samuel Okoh, 19, was charged earlier this month with first degree rape and rape by instrumentation after a 22-year-old woman went to Stillwater Medical Center and told employees there she had been raped, according to a release from Stillwater Police Department.

The case was continued from July 8 and July 10 for Okoh to appear in court with an attorney. At his appearance Wednesday afternoon, William Bradley Wooten entered his appearance as attorney of record for Okoh.

Okoh advised the court that his middle name, originally spelled Samual on court records, is actually Samuel.
