County considers bids for Cushing paving

Payne County commissioners will meet Monday to discuss a bid opening to put an asphalt overlay from Euchee Valley road to Cushing city limits east.

If there is more than one bid, commissioners will review all the bids and choose a contractor at the following meeting.

Commission Chairwoman Gloria Hesser said the commissioners will also be discussing and taking action on two resolutions dealing with the investment of county funds.

“Every year the treasurer presents the amounts of money the county has invested to the commission,” Hesser said. “It’s really just a housekeeping issue we do every year.”

Also, the commissioners tabled the renewal of maintenance and operational contract for the county health department because they did not have enough information to make an informed decision at the previous meeting.

Hesser said they would have specific contract information on Monday.

The commissioners will also discuss a service agreement and allocation of funds to Cleveland County Regional Juvenile Detention Center and Oklahoma Juvenile Detention Center, to service the county’s juvenile detention needs.

The commissioners also plan to go into an executive session to discuss a lawsuit between Joseph A. Courtright and the commissioners.

The meeting will being at 9 a.m. in the Commissioners Meeting Room in the County Administration Building, Sixth and Duck.
