OSU studying infant nutrition

Susan Brinker - NewsPress

An Oklahoma State University research team is seeking participants for a study on infant nutrition and its correlation with growth.

The research study is being conducted by the Nutritional Sciences and Psychology departments of OSU for the purpose of investigating the connection between infant nutrition and development.

The group is seeking participants who are pregnant or new mothers of healthy infants younger than 3-months. The mothers must be breast-feeding or planning to breast-feed after giving birth.

The research study will collect questionnaires about the family, a sample of milk and blood from the mother (not from the baby) and measure the baby’s physical growth and mental development at 3, 6 and 9 months. Participants will be paid $40 for the 3-month visit and $25 each for the 6- and 9-month visits.

For information, contact Dr. David Thomas at (405) 744-7078 or Dr. Tay Kennedy at (405) 744-5965.
