When the Perkins City Commission meets April 8, there will be two new faces at the table.
Don Sagersa and John Dragoo will be administered the oath of office, starting three-year terms on the commission.
Sagersa will succeed Albert May for the ward 2 post while Dragoo succeeds Betty Branstetter in ward 4.
They will join Commissioners Frank Eades and Randy Jarvis, who have one year remaining on their terms, and Mayor Mel Miller, who has two years remaining.
Dragoo and Sagersa drew no opponents in the filing period held earlier this year.
May has served since 1997. He has served two full three-year terms and is being termed out under the City Charter which was adopted in 2001. He is currently serving as vice mayor.
May resigned to run for mayor against Miller in 2003, breaking his service. Miller won re-election, and May was re-appointed to the commission. He is pastor of the Perkins Baptist Church.
Branstetter served an unexpired term, then was elected to a full three-year term. She was eligible to seek a second term but chose to spend more time with her community activities.
Sagersa served on the Perkins Planning Commission and the Perkins Flood Board. He resigned from both boards to take the City Commission post.
Dragoo served on the Perkins Industrial Development Authority.
