The Dude and sin

In response to J. Kent Davidson (letter, June 29), I would like to comment on the “Dude.”
Jesus loves everyone, hates no one, but he does hate our sins, for our sins separate us from our heavenly father. The Bible has specific scripture about homosexual behavior.
Read Genesis 19:1-25, Judges 19:22-30, Leviticus 18:22 & 20:13, Romans 1:24-28, I Corinthians 6:9-10, I Timothy 1:8-11, 2 Peter 2:6-10 and Jude 7. Also in Matthew 19:4-5 Jesus makes it clear what a proper marriage relationship is, that between a man and a woman.
Jesus may not specifically mention homosexual behavior, but neither does he mention other heinous sins such as rape, incest or pedophilia, but that does not imply that we should commit these sins against God or each other.
I commend you on all the work you have done. Your work should have alerted you to what a threat homosexual behavior is to us. First as you watched people die of such a horrifying, and preventable, disease. I am sure you watched many of the thousands of innocent children with the disease die also, not to mention the billions of taxpayers’ dollars spent on its treatment.
The “Dude,” my Jesus teaches me not to hate the homosexual community, but to love them. He also teaches me to hate sin, which homosexual behavior is. I believe most loving people, including myself are not “angry,” they just know the truth.
