‘Food for fuel’

Dan Crummett read something that wasn’t there. He says, “Wayne Cole’s simplistic explanation of ethanol production being solely responsible for the increase in food prices is typical of the ‘microwave mentality’ many have in today’s complex world.”

What I wrote doesn’t even hint that ethanol production is “solely responsible” except for someone who wants to read that into it. He needs to work on his reading comprehension.

Nevertheless, I totally agree with his next to last paragraph even though this is outside the scope of what I was trying to address in my other letter.

There are so many facets to the high cost of our petroleum that it would require a treatise to cover everything.
