I found David Yellin’s letter to the editor on May 6 very interesting. He talked about Pakistans policy of negotiating with terrorist warlords to maintain peace in Pakistan while allowing free sanctuary and pass for them to do mischief outside Pakistan, namely in Afghanistan. Yellin warns that such policies are “dangerous.”
He is right. You might find it interesting as that is exactly the same policy promoted by our friends in Europe prior to Nov. 11, 2001. It was not against the law to plan terrorist activities, as long as the plans did not involve their soil. It was terrorist activity in Germany that allowed several of the 19 members of “the religion of peace” to plan and wage jihad against America using jetliners.
Are such appeasement policies dangerous? Good letter Yellin.
