Waterboarding works

Claxton Cook does not know what he is talking about when he raves against waterboarding in his letter to the editor on May 4. All the books that I have read that were written by CIA and FBI experts say that torturing prisoners works. The only question is how well it works. Needn’t worry. You won and we can’t use this tool anymore.

Ayman al Zawahiri was tortured by the Egyptians, his home country, where he exposed what led to the arrest of some 200 members of the Muslim Brotherhood. While he was freed for his cooperation, many of his associates spent years in prison and some were executed for their terrorist activities. Now he continues promoting terrorism as second in command of al Qae’da.

‘War prisoners’ are taken from organized armies of some official governments that have declared war against us and we them. The only government that supports acts of terrorism is the government as defined by Allah in the Qur’an and is protected by his ‘religion of peace’ — ISLAM. Unfortunately, they are not responsible for their Jihad; it’s the duty and obligation of every Muslim (anywhere).

Waterboarding was used in a very few cases, authorized only by the head of the CIA, was useful and leaves no permanent damage; therefor is not in the class of torture. As for your statement, “Don’t mess with my mind,” the terrorist’s mind has already been messed with — big time — by his own religion of peace.
