Large cat sightings

I am writing in response to a news article in the April 30 News Plus about the large cats being seen. I also believe I have seen and heard the scream of a large cat when I lived at my Glencoe home.
A few years ago, it was reported a cat was hit by a truck on 108 North. I can’t confirm this report but I do know a neighbor who saw cat tracks in his barn. I too saw tracks on our property where deer crossed (the print of a cat was mixed in with the deer tracks) while walking. Also, early one morning, there was a cry (scream) of a large cat and after living in other states where large cats live, you don’t forget that sound.
I would like to ask our Wildlife Department why they feel there are none of these cats around? Too many people are seeing them and hearing them and people need to be alert while out. We need to embrace our wildlife and not destroy it and we need to remember there was a reason these animals were put on this earth.
Our Wildlife Department needs to educate all of us about these cats so everyone can live in harmony. Being part Native American, I believe it is a blessing to have these animals on our earth to teach us and I wanted others to know they are out there and you are seeing them.
Keep looking. You may see other kinds of wildlife we thought no longer existed in Oklahoma.
