‘Biggest Loser’ holds weigh-in

Participants in the YMCA’s “Biggest Loser” program have their first follow-up meeting Thursday at 6:30 p.m. on the racquetball courts.

Participants will weigh-in to see if they’ve reached their weight loss goals from January. Those who have reached their goals may participate in a drawing for a free fitness assessment from the YMCA.

Before the drawing, participants will listen to two Stillwater nutritionists, Melissa Cox, who works with Orange Blossom LLC, and Fatima Tina, who works for the Oklahoma State University Seretean Wellness Center. They will present information about developing positive eating habits for weight loss and maintaining a healthy weight.

If you have begun your food journal you are encouraged to bring it to the meeting. This meeting is open to everyone in the community who is interesting in improving their overall health and/or losing weight.

The program will last until April 30. At the final weigh-in, the individual who loses the highest percentage body weight will win several gift cards to local stores. Second and third place winners will also receive a gift card. Participants may compete in teams of two or individually and may join at any time during the challenge.

Participants will also receive a free month of YMCA membership and a free T-shirt.
