Pioneer Playday

Even with inclement weather, the 18th Stillwater NewsPress/SHS Pioneer Golf Playday was a success with over 140 players in the combined morning and afternoon rounds. Tournament chairman Roger McMillian and his staff of Jeff McMillian, Kit Donavan, Barry Patton, Vanessa Patton, Pat Zimmerman, Jamie Clannahan and Steve Carpenter put on a good show at the Stillwater Country Club. Roger also extended thanks to SCC professionals Chuck and Patty Coatney, who played a major role in making the tournament run smoothly.

The afternoon and overall winning team was composed of Ann Watkins, Ed Watkins, Robert Fletcher, Diana Murphy and Cherise Erickson with a net 50.9 strokes, followed by the team of Jeff Malicoat, Gannon Mendez, Mark Littlefield, James Causley and Lynn Gann (51.2). Third place was the fivesome of Bruce Luttrell, Tom Dugger, Barry Patton, Jeff Scott and Kevin Oltmanns (51.8) and fourth place was the team of Bob Phillips, Rusty Atkins, Ryan Blake and Mike Simpson (59).

The morning winning team (52.3) was made up of Mike Simpson, Brent Mackey, Bruce Webber, Ryan Webber and Rick Walstad. Second place was the foursome of Rick Jungers, Scott Schuessler, Tom Stewart, Edwin Sutherland and Wayne Kennemer (52.7), third place the team of Justan Wright, Randy Mace, Joe Bob Wright, Eric Gudgel and Barry Smith (54) while fourth place went to the group including Scott Jones, Rich Wieligman, Jim Littell, Angela Knott and Cherise Erickson (54.4).

Closest to the hole on the par-3 holes were Ryan Webber (#3), Gene Longworth (#7), Mike Simpson (#9), Kyle Meadors (#14) and Mark Littlefield (#16).



Cimarron Trails

In the MGA Tuesday 9-hole individual low net tournament, the Championship flight was won by Lynn Gann (34) followed by Eric Smith (37), J.D. Goad (38), Chris Perry (38), Jim Perry (41) and David McPhail (42). Ron Thompson (34) won A flight followed by Richard Rohlfing (36), Jarred Kelso (37), John Damicone (38), David Blose (39), Mel Campbell (41), Stan Dunbar (41) and Mike Short (45). Ben Wald (33) won B flight, then came Jeff Gill (34), Tony Sadler (36), Roscoe Wisler (36), Jeremy Graham (36), Brent Westerman (36), Tim Fox (37), Jeff Sadler (37) and Chris Boley (37). In C flight, the winner was Bryan Ball (33) followed by Kip Miner (34), Malcolm Cunningham (37), Frank Pool (38), Phillip Fryman (39), Dale Logan (39), David Swain (41) and Shawn Hancock (45).



Lakeside

The SWGA, playing under the format of no holes starting with “T” or “F,” had winners in the nine and 18-hole categories. In the 9-hole Championship flight, Colleen Lage took first place, Carolyn Laverde placed second and Mary Thomas was third. Bonnie McClintock and Arlene Duffy tied for first in the President’s flight and Glee Kincannon was third. In A flight, Carol Heddlesten was first followed by Ann Mitchell and tying for third were Ann Dugger and Hazel Griffin. In B flight, Jean Platt was the winner followed by Mary Jo Drummond and June Pace. Carolyn Martin (39) won the 18-hole Championship flight and Marti Johnson (40) was second while Linda Phillips (42) won the President’s flight and Hyun Suk Loh (45) was second. Sandra Marksberry (43) won A flight and Charlotte Chatburn (46) was second and Kay Graves (43) won B flight and Judith Kelly (45) placed second.

• In the MGA Monday night shootout the format was a four-man scramble with the team of Eric Hansen, Chick Martin, Matt Reed and Marti Johnson winning first place. Second place was won by John Chatburn, R.L. Beaty, Lew Phillips and Dale Days while the third place team was made up of Butch Reynolds, Bob Schreiber, Teressa Metcalf, Rick Moritz and Scott Petty.
