Club Notes 09-14-08

• Stillwater Water Garden Society has planned a trip to Tulsa on Saturday.

The group has chartered a bus for this trip and has opened it up to the community as well.

“We plan on touring the Linaeus Teaching Gardens, the Philbrook Museum of Art and of course their gardens,” said member Lionel Arnold.

The group will also make a stop at the Gilcrease Museum before returning to Stillwater.

Transportation and tickets to all exhibits will be paid by the club for members.

Non-members will be asked to contribute $10 toward the bus trip and pay for their entry into the Philbrook and Gilcrease.

Admission to the Philbrook is $5.50, and Admission to the Gilcrease is $8, with a group rate (for groups of 10 or more) of $6. Lunch will be $5.50 to $10.

The group will board the bus at 8:15 a.m. at Wal-Mart on West Sixth in the parking lot nearest Citizen’s State Bank and will leave at 8:30 a.m. The group is scheduled to be back in Stillwater at 5 p.m.

Reservations are due by Wednesday and may be made with Lionel Arnold at 372-0103 or lionelarnold@sbcglobal.net.

PEO Chapter EP and Chapter U met recently for a joint ice cream social in the home of Diane Coffee. Pictured are, from left, Scott Pappas, president of Chapter U; Lynda Hillier, president of Chapter EP; and Diane Coffee, hostess. This is the second year the two chapters have met together for a social. The ice cream social has been a Chapter EP tradition for years as an August event before the first fall meeting, and Pappas and Hillier decided it might be fun to do a joint social.
