Club Notes 08-17-08

• The Land Run Professionals Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals won two awards at the annual IAAP Arkansas-Oklahoma Division Inc. meeting in Bartlesville.

The chapter received a certificate for having the greatest retention rate (100 percent) of members in 2007-08 and the division’s Membership Scorecard Award for meeting division membership goals of 10 percent growth and 90 percent retention in 2007-08.

Also, Janet Griebel, CPS, CTM, former division secretary and current president of the Land Run Professionals Chapter, was recognized as a past division officer, a current division committee chairman and a current chapter president.

• Stillwater Water Garden Society will meet Monday at 7 p.m. at Oklahoma Gardening’s Studio Gardens.

The group will meet in the education building for a presentation from David Hillock, extension consumer horticulturist, on planting around the water garden.

To get to the gardens, take Sixth to Sangre and go north 1-1/2 miles to Virginia, then east for 1/4 mile. The entrance to the gardens is on the south side of the road. Follow the drive straight back. The education building is the first building on the left.

SWGS will travel to Tulsa on Sept. 20 to visit the Linnaeus Teaching Gardens. Transportation is being arranged. For more information, call Kathy Peacock at 377-2082.

All SWGS meetings are open to the public.



• TOPS OK013, Stillwater, met Thursday at Payne County Health Department.

The TOPS best loser was Jackie Baird. The KOPS best loser was Beulah Moore. The monthly TOPS best loser was Tammy Petermann, who also gave out walking, exercising and food charts and water intake for July.

Patty Pappan presented a program about enthusiasm.
