Twenty-five Payne County Home and Community Education members and Dea Rash, Payne County Extension FCS/4-H educator, attended the Northeast District Oklahoma Home and Community Education at Green Country Event Center in Tulsa in March.
The meeting was hosted by Osage and Washington counties and brought together 21 counties in the Northeast District to participate in workshops and recognize achievement.
Those members attending from Payne County were Emma Lou Hardin, Jean Mihura, Pat Kerns, Peggy Pickens, Betty Rutledge, Jane Flint, Jodelle Stout, June Stacy, Connie Norrie, Shirley Emde, Gloria Hesser, Dorislea Kekabah, Carol Robbins, Dee Porter, LaVerne Atkinson, Judith Ford, Debbie Wells, Mariuse Green, Ann Enix, Becky Scott, Geraldine Allen, Grace Soutee, Deborah Allensworth, Edna Westfall and Mary Norrie.
The district OHCE meetings are always a great time to congregate and reflect on the past year and get new ideas to implement into our county programs, Rash said.
District OHCE Awards were also presented at the meeting. Nominees recognized from Payne County were Emma Lou Hardin, Outstanding Member; Carol Robbins, Outstanding Young Member; Dee Porter, Heart of HCE; and Jane Flint, Outstanding Rookie Member. Jane Flint was named the Northeast District Outstanding Rookie Member.
TOPS OK013, Stillwater, had 22 TOPS, four KOPS and a new member at its meeting Thursday at Payne County Health Department.
The weekly best TOPS loser was Lynn Adsit. There was no KOPS best loser.
Tina Ahern presented the program on the color of food.
