Multi Arts Center’s Kids Summer Art Camp begins

Kids Summer Art Camp is underway at the City of Stillwater Multi Arts Center, and sessions are filling fast.

“This is a fun and creative way to spend part of your summer vacation,” said Jessica Novak, MAC supervisor. “We will introduce children to different artists and then allow them to complete a project in the style of that artist.”

Children gain knowledge of multiple art forms including clay, paint and other 2-D and 3-D media. Depending on the ages of children enrolled in the sessions, children will also have opportunities to make cookies and pretzels or artistic alien bread.

Each day will also feature snacks and games.

“A special exhibit highlighting the artwork of every child will be held in the Multi Arts Center Gallery from Aug. 10-31,” Novak said.

All sessions meet Mondays through Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

The fee for the classes is $100, except for the July 21 class, which is $150.

Following is a list of session dates and age groups:

• June 16- 26 — grades three and four.

July 7-17— grades three and four.

July 21-Aug. 7 — grade five and up.

Children must have completed the grade in 2008.
