Perkins holds Pete’s Market

The second annual Pete’s Market Day on Perkins Main Street Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. will include arts, crafts and activities for the kids.

Artists and activities will be set up on Thomas Street just east of Main Street and south of the Thomas-Wilhite Memorial Library. Visitors will find jewelry, pottery, watercolors, sculpture and candles.

Caricature artist Kelly Killough will also be on hand.

Kids’ activities include a silver sand pile sponsored by Stroud National Bank at 10:30 a.m., a Pistol Pete look-a-like contest at 11 a.m. and a turtle race at 1 p.m.

Entries for the Pete coloring and original drawing contest are due in the Lions Den at 11:30 a.m. Judging will be at noon. All who enter will receive a signed Pistol Pete print by artist Mike Larsen. Winners in each category will also get caricatures done by Killough.

Proceeds benefit the Oklahoma Territorial Plaza, a five-acre historical park being developed on Main Street.
