Jim Marion Etter will discuss his latest book, “What a Dirty Shame! 100 Unforgettable Place Names of Oklahoma,” on Saturday at Stillwater Public Library.
His appearance at 1 p.m. is hosted by the Stillwater Writers, said Mary Ellen Cooper, the group’s coordinator of the event. The public is invited.
Etter will also be available to autograph copies of his books following his talk, Cooper said.
Chapters in “What a Dirty Shame!” include Ghost Hollow (near Ingalls), Horsethief Canyon, Spook Light Road, Cutthroat Gap, Cross Bell Ranch, Gene Autry, Tia Juana, Wizzbang, Polecat Station, Loco and Possum Hollow, as well as the place that inspired the book’s title: Dirty Shame.
