The Cimarron Chapter of the American Guild of Organists is hosting “Pedals, Pipes and Pizza” from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
The event is designed to introduce young people to the pipe organ. All who attend will have a chance to hear and play two different organs and learn how they work.
Registration is at 9:45 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church at Third and Knoblock. The cost, which includes a pizza lunch, is $10, with an additional $5 for each additional family member.
At 11 a.m., the group will move to First Presbyterian Church at Sixth and Duck for the second hour and the pizza lunch.
St. Andrew’s has a mechanical action pipe organ built by Roy Redman Organs of Fort Worth, Texas. First Presbyterian has an electro-pneumatic pipe organ built by the Reuter Organ Company of Lawrence, Kan.
Host organists are Dr. Gerald Frank at St. Andrew’s and Rebecca te Velde at First Presbyterian. For more information, call 624-2612 or 624-3018.
