Local artist featured at OKC gallery

— Velma Sanders, Stillwater, will show her oil paintings as the featured artist for March and April at Contemporary Art Gallery in Oklahoma City.
The opening reception will be Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The gallery, in North Park Mall at 12058 N. May, is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sanders said she finds her subjects in scenes she happens to notice, experiences she has had or people she sees in her daily life. Her paintings include landscapes, still lifes, animals, florals and portraits.
She has been a member of Stillwater Art Guild since 1984 and is currently president.
She maintains her own studio and gallery, Countryside Studio, at 4421 S. Husband.
